Getting Started

Quick Start Guide

Generate your first image, video, and more in under 5 minutes.

A hands-on tour of Hylope's core generation tasks. Work through all of it, or jump straight to the section you need — each one takes a few minutes.

Generate an image

Open Create

Create is the default view when you sign in. Make sure Image Generation mode is selected in the mode selector.

Pick a provider and write a prompt

Gemini (Nano Banana 2) is a fast, high-quality default. Type a prompt, for example: A futuristic cityscape at sunset, cinematic lighting.

Adjust settings and generate

Optionally set the aspect ratio (16:9, 1:1, 9:16, etc.), quality (1K up to 4K on models that support it), or a seed for reproducibility. Click Generate.

Your image appears in the gallery below once processing completes. Click it to open the lightbox for a full-size view.

Generate a video

Switch to Video Generation

Choose a provider — Veo (Google) is a solid default.

Choose how to start

Generate from text only, a start frame (upload an image as the first frame), or interpolation (provide start and end frames).

Set duration and resolution, then generate

Options depend on the provider — Veo offers 4, 6, or 8 second clips up to 4K; other providers range further. Click Generate.

Video takes longer than stills

Expect anywhere from 30 seconds to a few minutes, depending on the provider and resolution.

Edit an image

Switch to Image Edit

Upload or select a reference image from your gallery.

Describe the edit

For example: Remove the background and replace with a tropical beach. Gemini and Qwen both work well for edits.

Upscale an asset

Switch to Upscale

Upload or select an image or video to upscale.

Choose a provider

  • Topaz — deepest restoration and upscale controls, for images or video
  • Clarity — good general-purpose option
  • Magnific — creative enhancement with detail generation

Organize your work

  • Projects — folders to organize different campaigns or briefs
  • Shots — sub-folders within projects for granular organization
  • Favorites — star assets you want quick access to
  • Use Gallery for a full-screen asset management view
  • Use Snippets to save reusable prompt text and visual templates
  • Use Share to organize folders and send public links to clients

Reuse a prompt snippet

Save a snippet

Open Snippets and create one with prompt text you use often.

Insert it in Create

Return to Create, type @ in the prompt editor, and choose the snippet.

Try a visual template

Turn on Template

Open Create, select Image Gen, and turn on Template in the right settings panel.

Choose and fill a template

Pick a saved template, then click the template-controlled prompt bar to open the template editor and fill in its fields.

Apply and generate

Click Apply Prompt, then generate the image.

When to use a template

Templates are best when you want the same reusable visual structure with different subjects, copy, colors, or settings.

Tips

  • Use seeds to reproduce results — same prompt + same seed = same output
  • Batch generation lets you create multiple variations at once
  • Lineage tracking shows the full history of edits and variations for any asset
  • Right-click any asset for quick actions (edit, upscale, use as reference, download)
  • Keyboard shortcuts: arrow keys in the lightbox, Escape to close
